Registration

AHBRA is responsible for establishing and maintaining the register of AHBs and for registering organisations as AHBs in line with the Housing (Regulation of Approved Housing Bodies) Act 2019 (the Act).

The Approved Housing Bodies Register

The Housing (Regulation of Approved Housing Bodies) Act 2019 specifies the type of information that AHBRA must enter in the Register.

Eligibility

The Housing (Regulation of Approved Housing Bodies) Act 2019 outlines the eligibility criteria that an AHB is required to meet in order to register. A person must meet all the eligibility criteria as set out in the Act.

Deemed Registered

Organisations that had AHB status from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Housing were deemed to be registered with AHBRA.

Application for Registration

An organisation wishing to become an Approved Housing Body must meet the Eligibility Criteria and make an Application to Register.
