Annual Monitoring Programme 2024

AHBRA has launched its Annual Monitoring Programme for 2024. Information sessions for AHBs were held on the 22nd of October, with the Annual Monitoring Form issued on the 29th of October. All AHBs are requested to provide a range of information and performance data on their organisations activities to AHBRA by the required deadline.

The Annual Monitoring Programme is an important function for AHBRA as we will analyse and evaluate information provided by AHBs to:

  • inform future planned assessment programmes
  • identify common risk areas and trends across the sector
  • tailor education and guidance needs for AHBs based on the risks identified
  • publish an annual sector analysis which will provide useful information across the sector

What should your AHB do?

All AHBs   registered with AHBRA have been issued with the Annual Monitoring Form. AHBs are asked to complete all sections of the Annual Monitoring Form issued in full. You should submit your completed annual monitoring form by email to monitoring@ahbregulator.ie

Please submit the Annual Monitoring Form, alongside your latest financial statements no later than 5pm Friday 6th December 2024.  Please note that Large AHB’s are also required to submit their Management Accounts up to 30th June 2024 and a copy of their Monthly Operational Cashflow for 2024.

Failure to submit the form by the deadline will result in the issue of a statutory notice requiring the submission of the form. Failure to comply with this notice will result in further regulatory action.

Advice and Guidance

To assist your organisation in completing the annual monitoring form we have also developed an Explanatory Note which provides advice and guidance for AHBs on what information is expected by AHBRA. This Explanatory Note has been issued alongside the Annual Monitoring Form to all AHBs. All AHBs are advised to refer to the explanatory note while completing the form. Any queries which are not answered by the explanatory note can be sent to AHBRA directly at monitoring@ahbregulator,ie.

An information session for all AHBs was held on the 22nd of October to provide further information on the Annual Monitoring Programme and the requirements for AHBs. A link to a recording of this session is available below, as well as a number of short guidance videos providing further detail on areas of the form with frequent queries.

AHBs who have failed to comply with a direction under Section 36 of the Housing (Regulation of Approved Housing Bodies) Act 2019 to submit the Annual Monitoring Form.

A number of AHBs did not respond to AHBRA’s requests to submit the Annual Monitoring Form.
